Hey, folks! BIX kicked off last night with a great night of fun dancing at Stomp. Tonight we BIX it up at the huge battle of the bands at Walker Memorial Hall. Come join us for an amazing dance! Afterwards, Gordon Webster takes over at Brookline Tai Chi for late night. You don't want to miss out on these!

Please also note that we have closed online registration; we are still accepting registrations at the door through the end of late night tonight. Can't wait to see you there!

BIX starts tomorrow! We hope you guys are as excited as we are. This is going to be a weekend to remember. There's still time to register, so jump on the website and sign up if you haven't already!

And if you're wondering about Thursday night, we are starting off strong by having a great night of DJ'd tunes by Jay Provost. You may remember him from Swing City and Boston Swing Central, to name a couple of the places that he's rocked.

Not only is he going to get the swing out for you guys-- there's a Jack and Jill competition final that night! Some of Boston's finest will be getting on the floor and doing their utmost. Come and cheer them on! And then dance with them.

Finally, I want to note that housing is nearly full, but the housing coordinator will do her best to place people last minute if she can. Additionally, if there's anyone who host additional guests, please let us know! You can let us know either way on the housing page.

As you know, Gordon Webster is playing the Friday late night venue; in addition to this, he is accompanying the Cangelosi Cards on Saturday night late night, as well! This is going to be incredible. If you haven't heard of the Cards yet, please go find their stuff on Youtube and see how much they rock. That's the only way to get ready for how hard they're going to rock you at Blues Cafe.

Secondly, we've been keeping this on the down low as we coordinate details, but there will be a Sunday late night dance-- a house party at Cornerstone House in Waltham! Well known to locals for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere and fun times, Cornerstone house is opening its doors to people. This will be followed by breakfast and movies. See the schedule for more details.

As you know, next Friday is the huge battle of the bands! It's at Walker Memorial, which is extremely accessible by T (Kendall Square Stop on the Red Line, plus quite a few buses). Showing solidarity and support, the three major Friday venues will be co-sponsoring the battle of the bands! Boston Swing Central, Swing City, and Swing Dance Depot are all canceling their dances that night to direct everyone to this great dance! We want to thank them for their support.

Secondly, Friday's dance is in a huge hall-- but it does have stone or marble floors, so it won't have as much give as a wooden floor. Please be careful if you've got knee problems! (John certainly will be.)

We're gearing up for Memorial Day Weekend and all the amazing events that entails! We're stoked about hosting so many incredible bands and DJs in our fair city, and we hope you are too. People have been asking, "Which night do you recommend?" And honestly, we can't single out any event. This Memorial Day weekend will be packed with juicy lindy and blues goodness, and every one of them will rock the party.

With that in mind, we encourage people to register ahead of time rather than buying a la carte-- Friday night and Saturday night (with late nights included) will be $75! That's practically the price of registration right there. So register now and save on the whole weekend!

Well, this won't do at all! We've left you without updates for far too long. So here's the skinny:

We've added to our band lineup! In a titanic clash of swing, the Beantown Swing Orchestra and the White Heat Orchestra will face off on Friday evening. We're expecting a packed floor for this- all the more reason to pre-register!

Speaking of pre-registration... it is currently $70, and goes up to $80 on May 1st. Registering now is a great idea for a number of reasons-- especially if you're looking for housing. The sooner you register, the easier it will be for us to find you housing! For both guests and hosts, please check out the Housing link-- the housing coordinator will thank you profusely for having more information to work with.

Also! For those of you wondering where our t-shirts are-- they're here! Available for pre-ordering, the BIX t-shirt is a pretty sweet design this year. If you pre-order it online, it will be waiting for you at the door. There are no guarantees that there will be any left for sale at the event, so snap one up!
